Gower

Britain's first designated area of outstanding natural beauty, with many different kinds of attractions.

Swansea Bay

The seaside quarter of Swansea City, with a beach extending from the Tawe river barrage to Mumbles, and including the Marina, the National Waterfront Museum and the University.

Mumbles

A village at the western end of Swansea Bay, with many shops, restaurants and the famous pier and lighthouse.

National Waterfront Museum

The National Waterfront Museum in Swansea, which records industry and innovation in Wales.

Pembrey Country Park

An area of parkland, seen from Gower across the Loughor estuary, with one of Europe's top beaches, a miniature railway and dry ski and toboggan runs.

Oakwood Theme Park

A theme park in West Wales with spectacular rides and other attractions. Suitable for families of all ages with a special section for young children.

Folly Farm Adventure Park

The biggest farm attraction in Wales. Particularly suitable for children, who can touch and feed the animals.

Heatherton

A family activity leisure park in Pembrokeshire. 

National Showcaves Centre

A set of caverns open to the public in the Swansea valley. A number of important historical artefacts have been discovered in the caves. Attractions for children include a dinosaur park.

Cardiff Bay

The rapidly developing Cardiff waterfront created by the new barrage, with many attractions.

Techniquest

A science museum on Cardiff Bay, aimed mainly at children. Lots of hands-on exhibits and explanations of "what is happening" for each. Presentations in an auditorium and a planetarium throughout the day.

National Museums of Wales

The National Museums in South Wales "bring to life" their particular aspects of Welsh history.
The Museum of Welsh Life is a collection of historical buildings in Wales, relocated to St Fagans, which gives a view of life in Wales from Celtic times.
The Big Pit at Blaenafon is a real colliery in which one can experience the history of coal mining in Wales.
The Roman Legionary Museum at Caerleon depicts the Roman occupation of Wales from AD 75 to 300.
